Band goes to Prince of Wales for jam

So the blues band went to revel in a night of blues hosted by the Chicken Shack Revival Band at Prince of Wales, Dunlop St. For those who are not aware, Prince of Wales is a backpacker inn which feature almost live acts every other day.

You had all types of people there: young blue musicians like the trio of us, a father-and-son singing, good old hobbyists and everyone had a good time.

We picked up good experience and exposure and this night will go a long way to inspire us to playing more soulful blues than anything else.

We did a recent jam as a 3-piece, since we were previously 4 piece. These aren't the best of our showing but it will do for now till we get better recordings.

Our band will be playing at upcoming D&D at Cassis Singapore located at Rochester Park. (Near Buona Vista MRT) on Sept 5, Saturday 7-10pm.

Some words from the band

Hi there, we're a 3 piece blues band from Singapore. It's been formed couple of months back in April 2009 and the band has gone through quite some changes to the existing line up.

Zico - lead guitar/vocals
Boon - bass
Jimmy - drums

We come from diverse background but we really enjoying playing blues, a type of feel music. People often think blues are for the old, slow and the almost dead but it's definitely far from it. We enjoying playing a mixture of uptempo, relaxed and even rock and roll type of blues. Our influences stem from greats like:

Three Kings of Blues (BB, Freddie, Albert), Cream, Peter Green, John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers, Fleetwood Mac, Muddy Waters, Stevie Ray Vaughn and the Double Trouble, Led Zeppelin, John Mayer, Elmore James, Wilson Pickett
